About

Founded in March 1961 as Strathmore College, the first multi-racial, multi-religious institution in pre-independence Kenya, Strathmore University was chartered in 2008 as a full private university. Located in Nairobi's Madaraka estate, Strathmore serves over 8,000 students across its Madaraka and Business School campuses.

The university operates seven schools including the Strathmore Business School (SBS), School of Law, School of Computing and Engineering Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences. Its @iLabAfrica Research and Innovation Centre and the CIPIT law tech institute anchor its research portfolio.

Accredited by CUE, the university ranks 2nd nationally — a remarkable position for a private institution. Partnerships with IESE Business School (Spain), Wharton (USA), and MIT reflect its global academic ambition, producing graduates who shape Kenya's financial, legal, and technology sectors.
