Certificate in Water Technology

The Certificate in Water Technology is a KNEC Craft Certificate programme that trains students in water treatment, distribution, and quality management skills. The course is examined by KNEC and offered across accredited TVET institutions in Kenya. Students learn water treatment processes, water distribution, water testing, pump systems, water quality, and water supply systems.

Training combines classroom theory with practical sessions in laboratory and plant environments. The programme includes industrial attachment in water treatment plants or water utilities where students apply their skills in real water technology environments.

Graduates work as water treatment plant assistants, water quality technicians, pump station operators, water distribution assistants, and water supply technicians in water service providers, water treatment companies, county water departments, and engineering firms. The qualification provides a foundation for progression to Diploma in Water Engineering for specialised water technology and engineering roles.
