The curriculum covers communication skills, mathematics, science, technical drawing, information communication technology, entrepreneurship, and occupational safety. Kenya's water resource management sector, including catchment conservation, dam operations, irrigation schemes, and water governance programmes, creates demand for certified water resource personnel. Water resource management authorities, county governments, NGOs, and environmental organisations require trained technicians for resource assessment and conservation operations.

Training combines classroom theory with practical sessions in field and laboratory environments. Students practice resource assessment, hydrological monitoring, conservation techniques, and watershed management under supervised conditions. The programme includes industrial attachment in water resource organisations or government departments where students apply their skills in real water management environments.
