Scott Christian University (SCU)

Founded in 1962 as Scott Theological College by the Africa Inland Mission, Scott Christian University was chartered in 2013 as a private Christian university. Located in Machakos County, the university serves over 1,800 students across its Main Campus.

The university operates four schools including Theology, Education, Business and Economics, and Social Sciences. Its AIC heritage integrates Christian faith with academic training, producing church leaders and educators for the Africa Inland Church and beyond.

Accredited by CUE and the AIC Education Council, the institution ranks 53rd nationally. Its 60-year history of theological education makes it one of Kenya's most established evangelical institutions for ministry training and Christian higher education.

Scott christian university focuses on theological and biblical research, with published works in african christian theology and church history that reflect its heritage as the aic's national theological college. the school of theology advances research on african christian theology, biblical studies, church history, and the legacy of the africa inland mission in east africa, producing scholarship that informs the aic's engagement with african culture and society. the school of education contributes pedagogical research with a focus on values based education in christian schools, while the school of business and economics investigates ethical entrepreneurship and faith based business models. the school of social sciences conducts research on social transformation, community development, and the role of the church in african society. partnership with the africa inland church (aic) and the africa inland mission (aim) ensures research relevance to church needs, while collaboration with the biblical theological college (usa) supports faculty exchange and collaborative research. research output increasingly informs aic church policy, theological education, and christian engagement with african societal challenges.

A C+ mean grade is the minimum for a Bachelor's degree; competitive programmes (medicine, engineering, law, nursing, architecture) require higher grades and specific KCSE subject clusters. Master's programmes require a relevant Bachelor's degree; PhD programmes a relevant Master's degree.
