A theology degree only leads to becoming a pastor.

While pastoral ministry is a primary path, theology graduates also work as chaplains, teachers, religious educators, church administrators, mission workers, NGO officers, counsellors, and academic researchers.

Theology is not a real academic subject.

Theology is a rigorous academic discipline involving biblical languages, historical analysis, philosophical reasoning, textual criticism, and systematic thinking — it is studied at major universities worldwide.

You need to be called by God to study theology.

While many theology students have a sense of calling, the programme is open to anyone interested in biblical studies, religious thought, church history, and ministry — including those pursuing academic or teaching careers.

Theology graduates cannot find employment.

Churches, schools, faith-based organisations, hospitals, prisons, military, and NGOs all employ theology graduates — with demand for chaplains, religious educators, and church staff growing in Kenya.

Bible and Theology is only for one denomination.

The programme is ecumenical — students from various Christian traditions study together, and graduates serve across many denominations and interdenominational organisations.
