Research

Rongo university focuses on applied research in agriculture, education, environmental science, and community based projects that address the specific needs of migori county and the broader south nyanza region. the school of agriculture and natural resources advances research on sustainable farming practices and natural resource management suited to the region's mixed agro ecological zones, while the school of information, communication and media studies investigates digital inclusion and media literacy in rural communities. partnership with the african virtual university (avu) expands open and distance learning access, while the iucea affiliation ensures regional standards compliance. the school of science, technology and engineering develops appropriate technologies for artisanal mining safety and agricultural processing, directly benefiting local communities. research output, though growing, increasingly addresses county level challenges in food security, environmental conservation, and educational quality across migori and neighbouring counties.
