Bachelor of Applied Science (Geoinformatics)

The Bachelor of Applied Science (Geoinformatics) is a technology-driven programme that equips students with skills in geographic information systems, remote sensing, digital mapping, cartography, and spatial data analysis. A typical day begins with a morning lecture on GIS theory or remote sensing principles, followed by a laboratory session where students work with ArcGIS, QGIS, or ERDAS Imagine on practical exercises. Afternoons may involve field work using GNSS receivers and total stations for data collection, or computer laboratory sessions on spatial database management and programming. Students often spend evenings processing field data and preparing maps and reports.
