About
Founded in 1984 by an Act of Parliament as Kenya's second public university, Moi University is located in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County. Named after President Daniel arap Moi, the university serves over 52,000 students across its Main Campus in Kesses and Town Campus, with additional campuses in Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kitale.
The university operates 13 schools including Medicine, Law, Aerospace Sciences, Engineering, Education, Business and Economics, and Information Sciences. The College of Health Sciences operates from the Medical Complex near Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, while the School of Aerospace Sciences is based at Rivatex.
Accredited by CUE, the university ranks 3rd nationally. Its partnership with Indiana University through the AMPATH programme has made it a global leader in medical education and HIV/AIDS research in East Africa.
