KAG East University (KAGEU)

Founded in 1975 as the East Africa School of Theology and chartered in 2014, KAG East University is a private Pentecostal university located in Nairobi. The university serves over 3,000 students across its Main Campus.

The university operates three schools including Theology, Business, and Education. Its Kenya Assemblies of God (KAG) heritage emphasises Pentecostal theology and practical ministry training, producing church leaders and Christian educators across East Africa.

Accredited by CUE and the Assemblies of God Education Council, KAG East ranks 59th nationally. Its five-decade history of Pentecostal theological education makes it the premier Assemblies of God training institution in East Africa, serving the denomination's rapidly growing network of churches across the region.

Research at KAG East University focuses on community development, theology, and education, with local impact through partnerships with churches and community organisations across the Kenya Assemblies of God network. The School of Theology advances research on Pentecostal theology, African Christianity, biblical studies, and the history of the Assemblies of God movement in Kenya, producing scholarship that informs the KAG's engagement with African culture and society. The School of Business investigates ethical entrepreneurship, church-based enterprise models, and business management from a Christian perspective, while the School of Education contributes pedagogical research on teaching quality in Christian schools and values-based education. Partnership with Assemblies of God World Missions and Global University (USA) supports faculty exchange and collaborative research in theology and ministry studies. The Africa Theological Training Network connects KAG East to Pentecostal scholarship across the continent. Research output increasingly informs church policy, pastoral training curricula, and Pentecostal engagement with societal challenges across the KAG's 5,000+ congregations in Kenya.

A C+ mean grade is the minimum for a Bachelor's degree; competitive programmes (medicine, engineering, law, nursing, architecture) require higher grades and specific KCSE subject clusters. Master's programmes require a relevant Bachelor's degree; PhD programmes a relevant Master's degree.
