Siala Technical Training Institute (ST7)

Siala Technical Training Institute, located in Homabay County, Kenya, was established in 2012 to address the growing demand for skilled technical manpower in the region. The institute is committed to providing quality technical and vocational education and training (TVET) that equips students with practical skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for employment, self-reliance, and further education. Its mission is to produce competent, innovative, and ethical graduates who contribute to national development.

The institute offers a wide range of programmes in engineering, information technology, business studies, applied sciences, and hospitality.

Accredited by TVETA and KNEC, the institution serves as a key technical training centre for the region, supporting the local economy with skilled graduates.

Siala Technical Training Institute conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Migori County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
