A day as a student
A typical day in preclinical years starts with morning anatomy lectures followed by dissection sessions, physiology practicals, or biochemistry laboratory work. In clinical years, students attend ward rounds, outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, emergency department rotations, and community health fieldwork. They take patient histories, perform physical examinations, assist in procedures, observe surgeries, conduct normal deliveries, manage common diseases, participate in case discussions, conduct community health surveys, visit households, and work on their research project. Clinical rotations at KNH, MTRH, county hospitals, health centres, and community health fieldwork provide extensive hands-on experience.

Direct entry clinical medicine is only for students who couldn't get into MBChB.
