Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management

The Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management is a four-year programme that prepares students for procurement and logistics operations in organisations. Students study procurement, logistics, supply chain management, inventory control, transportation, warehousing, distribution and project management. The programme combines purchasing with logistics and distribution skills for the modern economy.

Students develop competencies in procurement planning, sourcing, supplier management, logistics coordination, transportation, warehousing, inventory control, distribution and supply chain operations. They learn to manage the flow of goods and services from suppliers to end users, ensure cost efficiency and maintain service quality. The programme covers procurement, logistics, supply chain, inventory, transport and distribution.

In Kenya, procurement and logistics management is vital for trade, manufacturing, retail, humanitarian operations and government service delivery. Chuka University, Kabarak University, Multimedia University and other institutions offer this programme. Graduates find roles in procurement departments, logistics companies, transport firms, manufacturing, retail and government.

Teaching is delivered through lectures, case studies, simulations, industrial attachment and research projects. Students analyse logistics networks, plan procurement, manage inventory and undertake industrial attachment. The programme includes a final-year research project.
