About

Founded in 1946 by white settlers as a Large Scale Farmers Training Centre, the University of Eldoret has one of the deepest historical roots of any Kenyan university. Converted to Moi Teachers Training College Chepkoilel in 1984, it became a constituent college of Moi University in 2010 and was chartered in 2013. Located in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, the university serves over 15,000 students.

The university operates nine schools including Agriculture and Biotechnology, Business and Management Sciences, Education, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources, and Science. Its Main and Town campuses serve the North Rift region.

Accredited by CUE, the university ranks 27th nationally. Its agricultural heritage — spanning nearly eight decades — makes it a leading institution for agricultural science and teacher education in Kenya's North Rift region.
