About

Established in 1969 as the Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), KCA University was chartered in 2007 as a private university. Located in Ruaraka, Nairobi, KCA serves over 12,000 students across its Main and Town campuses.

The university operates four schools including Business, Technology, Education Arts and Social Sciences, and the KCAU Professional and Technical Training Institute. Its accounting and finance programmes are the most recognised in Kenya, with strong links to ICPAK and the ACCA professional body.

Accredited by CUE, ICPAK, and the Council of Legal Education (CLE), the institution ranks 17th nationally. Notable alumni include George Odhiambo (MD, National Bank of Kenya) and Prof. George Njoroge (pharmaceutical chemist with 100+ US patents). Its accounting heritage makes Kenya's premier institution for finance and audit professionals.

Kca university focuses on applied research in accounting, finance, governance, and ict, with growing output in business innovation and policy analysis. the school of business conducts research on corporate governance, financial reporting, and audit quality in the kenyan and east african context, while the school of technology investigates ict applications for financial systems, data analytics, and digital transformation. partnership with icpak ensures research relevance to the accounting profession, while collaboration with acca (uk) supports international benchmarking of finance research. the cisco networking academy and microsoft imagine academy partnerships drive research and training in networking, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. the school of education arts and social sciences contributes research on educational pedagogy and social policy. kcau's research increasingly informs financial regulation, corporate governance standards, and ict policy in kenya, bridging professional practice with academic scholarship.
