Islamic University of Kenya (IUK)

Established in 2000 and chartered in 2024, the Islamic University of Kenya (IUK) is a private Islamic university located in Kisaju, Kajiado County, with learning centres in Nairobi and Mombasa. The university serves over 5,000 students across its three campuses.

The university operates four schools including Sharia and Islamic Studies, Business Management, Education, and Informatics and Technology. Its it foundation integrates it values with modern professional training, serving Kenya's growing demand for faith-based higher education.

Accredited by CUE, IUK ranks 67th nationally. Its three-campus network spanning Kajiado, Nairobi, and Mombasa makes the institution higher education accessible to students across Kenya's major urban centres, bridging the gap between it scholarship and modern professional training.

The School of Business Management investigates Islamic finance, ethical entrepreneurship, and market-oriented business strategies from an Islamic perspective. The School of Sharia and Islamic Studies advances research on Islamic jurisprudence, Sharia law in East Africa, and the role of Islamic education in modern Kenyan society. The School of Education contributes pedagogical research on Islamic education methodologies and values-based teaching. The university's three campuses in Kisaju, Nairobi, and Mombasa support regionally grounded research that addresses the educational and economic needs of Kenya's diverse Muslim communities.
