Taveta Technical and Vocational College (TTV2)

Taveta Technical and Vocational College, located in Taveta town within Taita-Taveta County, was established in 2016 to provide accessible technical and vocational education to the local community. Its mission is to equip learners with practical skills and knowledge for self-reliance and employability, contributing to Kenya's Vision 2030.

The college offers a range of diploma, certificate, and artisan programmes in fields such as Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hospitality and Tourism, Fashion Design, and Agriculture. Given its strategic location near the Kenya-Tanzania border, the college plays a vital role in cross-border skills development and trade facilitation.

With a growing student body and partnerships with industry, The institution Technical and Vocational College is a key player in Kenya’s TVET ecosystem, addressing the skills gap in the region and promoting youth empowerment.

Taveta Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Taita-Taveta County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
