Rangwe Technical and Vocational College (RTV2)

Rangwe Technical and Vocational College (RTVC) is a public TVET institution located in Rangwe, Homa Bay County, Kenya. Established in 2012, the college was founded to address the growing demand for skilled technical manpower in the Lake Region and the country at large.

RTVC is accredited by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) and offers a variety of diploma and certificate programmes in engineering, ICT, business studies, hospitality, and applied sciences. The college plays a significant role in promoting technical education in a region traditionally reliant on agriculture and fishing, providing youth with practical skills for formal employment and entrepreneurship.

The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
