Mulango Technical and Vocational College (MTV16)

Mulango Technical and Vocational College, located in Kitui County, Eastern Kenya, was established in 2016 to address the growing demand for skilled labor in agriculture, ICT, and business sectors. The college aims to provide hands-on training that equips students with practical skills for self-employment and formal employment.

Programs include certificate and diploma courses in agribusiness, information technology, accounting, and electrical engineering. The institution plays a crucial role in the region by bridging the skills gap and supporting Kenya's Vision 2030 development agenda.

With a focus on competency-based education, the college collaborates with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and job readiness.

Mulango Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Kitui County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
