About
Established in 1950 as Coast Technical High School and renamed Mombasa Technical Training Institute (MTTI) under the 8-4-4 system, Kenya Coast National Polytechnic (KCNP) is a public TVET institution in Mombasa County, Kenya. The polytechnic serves over 4,000 students and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in Engineering, Hospitality, Fashion Design, Cosmetology, and ICT.
The institution offers diploma and certificate courses across departments including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Building and Civil Engineering, Computing and Informatics, Business Studies, Hospitality and Tourism, and Fashion Design and Cosmetology. It also operates Mvita FM 106.2, a community radio station in Mombasa.
Accredited by TVETA and KNQA, KCNP is the only national polytechnic in The institution's coastal region, serving as the primary centre for technical training from Mombasa to the Somali border.

Admission requirements
The college requires a minimum KCSE mean grade of C- (Minus) for diploma programmes, D (Plain) for certificates, and KCPE for artisan courses. The college accepts KUCCPS-placed and self-sponsored students. Government capitation and HELB loans are available for eligible students.
