About
Kajiado East Technical and Vocational College (KETVC) was established in 2015 by the Government of Kenya to provide accessible, quality technical and vocational education to the semi-arid Kajiado East region. The college was founded to address the high youth unemployment and skills gap among the Maasai community and other residents. It is registered and accredited by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
KETVC's mission is to equip learners with practical, market-driven skills that foster self-reliance and employability.
Accredited by TVETA and KNEC, the institution serves as a key technical training centre for the region, supporting the local economy with skilled graduates.

Research and innovation
Kajiado East Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Kajiado County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
