Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (Business Studies and Mathematics)

The Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education (Business Studies and Mathematics) is a KNEC-examined programme that prepares trainees to teach business studies and mathematics in secondary schools. The programme is accredited by the Ministry of Education and examined by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

Trainees develop competencies in professional studies, business studies content, mathematics content, cross-disciplinary pedagogy, special needs education, and ICT integration. The curriculum combines coursework with extensive teaching practice in secondary schools.

Kenya's education sector requires qualified teachers for both mathematics and business subjects under the Competency Based Curriculum. The programme supports the government's emphasis on quantitative and financial literacy education.
