A day as a student
A typical day is mostly practical. Mornings begin with a short theory briefing on propagation, irrigation, pest control, or greenhouse management, followed by long hands-on sessions in the nursery, greenhouse, or college farm. Students raise seedlings, prepare potting media, set up drip lines, mix fertiliser solutions, scout for pests and diseases, prune and train crops, and harvest, grade, and pack produce. They also practise keeping farm records and operating basic tools. During industrial attachment, learners work under a farm supervisor on a commercial vegetable, flower, or nursery enterprise, applying competencies in real production conditions.
