Diploma in Agriculture Engineering Technology

The Diploma in Agricultural Engineering is a TVET Level 6 programme designed to train learners in the mechanisation and engineering fields necessary for increasing agricultural production and processing. The programme equips graduates with competencies in farm power and machinery, soil and water conservation, irrigation systems, agricultural structures, post-harvest processing, and renewable energy applications in agriculture.

Students develop practical skills in engineering mathematics, mechanical science, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, material science, electrical principles, and workshop technology. The programme also covers tractor operation and maintenance, farm machinery repair, irrigation system installation, welding and fabrication, and agricultural equipment troubleshooting, ensuring graduates can handle real-world engineering challenges in agricultural settings.

This programme is ideal for KCSE graduates with a mean grade of C- (minus) who have an aptitude for mechanics, physics, and mathematics, and are interested in applying engineering principles to agricultural production. It provides a progression pathway to Bachelor of Science degrees in Agricultural Engineering or Agricultural and Bio-systems Engineering.
