Certificate in Hydrology

The Certificate in Hydrology is a KNEC-examined programme that trains individuals in water resource monitoring, hydrological data collection, and basic water quality assessment. The programme is accredited by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) and examined by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

Trainees develop competencies in stream gauging, rainfall measurement, groundwater monitoring, water sampling, basic hydrological analysis, and data recording. The curriculum combines theoretical instruction with field practicals at water monitoring stations and laboratories.

Kenya's water resource management sector requires technical personnel to support hydrological monitoring and data collection for water planning, flood management, and water supply projects. The programme supports the government's water sector reforms and the Water Act 2016 implementation.

This programme is suitable for individuals with a KCSE mean grade of D (plain) who have an interest in water resources and environmental science. It provides technical skills for employment in Kenya's water sector.
