Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Development Education

The Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Development Education is a four-year programme that prepares students for teaching and supporting young children's development in ECDE settings. Students study child development, early childhood pedagogy, curriculum development, play-based learning and educational psychology. The programme is offered by universities including Chuka University, Maasai Mara University, Scott Christian University and St Paul's University.

Students develop competencies in early childhood teaching, child development assessment, play-based pedagogy, curriculum development, classroom management and family engagement. They learn to develop physical, creative, intellectual, personal and social capabilities of young children. The programme covers early literacy, numeracy, science, health, arts and environmental education for young learners.
