Uzima University (UU)

Established in 2020 as Uzima University College and chartered in 2023, Uzima University is a private Catholic university located in Kisumu, Kisumu County. The university serves over 500 students across its Main Campus.

The university operates two schools including Nursing and Medicine. Its health sciences programmes address the critical shortage of medical professionals in Kenya's western region, with clinical training partnerships at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Accredited by CUE, the institution ranks 72nd nationally. Its Catholic foundation and location in Kisumu make it a key institution for medical and nursing education in Kenya's Lake Victoria region, serving communities with limited access to healthcare training opportunities.
