Adventist University of Africa (AUA)

Established in 2005 and chartered in the same year, the Adventist University of Africa (AUA) is a private Seventh-day Adventist postgraduate institution located at Advent Hill, Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County. The university serves over 2,500 students from across Africa.

The university operates a Theological Seminary and a School of Postgraduate Studies, offering masters and doctoral programmes in theology, education, and business. Its pan-African mandate serves the Seventh-day Adventist Church's educational needs across the African continent.

Accredited by CUE and the Seventh-day Adventist Church General Conference Education Council, AUA ranks 49th nationally. As the only Adventist postgraduate university in Africa, it trains church leaders, educators, and administrators for the denomination's extensive network of institutions across the continent.

Aua's research is focused on theological studies and community health, with publications in adventist journals and public health research that reflects the seventh day adventist tradition's emphasis on holistic health. the theological seminary advances research on adventist theology, african christianity, biblical interpretation, and pastoral ministry, producing scholarship that informs the adventist church's engagement with african culture and society. the school of postgraduate studies conducts research on leadership, public health, and technology, with the master of public health and phd in public health programmes generating research on community health challenges across africa. partnership with andrews university and loma linda university (usa) — both seventh day adventist institutions — supports faculty exchange, collaborative research, and joint degree programmes. the general conference education council ensures adherence to global adventist academic standards. research output increasingly informs church policy, pastoral training, and public health practice across the adventist network in africa.
