Turbo Technical and Vocational College (TTV5)

Turbo Technical and Vocational College (Turbo TVC) was established in 2005 to address the growing demand for skilled labor in the Rift Valley region in Kenya. Located in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, the college was founded by the government in partnership with local industry players to provide practical, competency-based education.

Its mission is to equip learners with technical and vocational skills that meet national and international standards, fostering self-reliance and entrepreneurship.

As a key institution in Kenya's TVET sector, The institution TVC plays a vital role in implementing the government's 'Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda' by producing graduates ready for the 21st-century workforce.

Turbo Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Uasin Gishu County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
