Runyenjes Technical and Vocational College (RTV7)

Runyenjes Technical and Vocational College (RTVoC) is a public TVET institution located in Runyenjes Town, Embu County, Kenya. Established in 2016 through a partnership between the Kenyan government and the local community, the college was created to address the growing demand for skilled labor in the region.

Its mission is to provide accessible, quality technical and vocational education that empowers youth with practical skills for self-reliance and national development. The college offers a wide range of diploma and certificate programs in engineering, information communication technology, business studies, applied sciences, and hospitality.

It plays a significant role in Kenya's Vision 2030 by producing competent graduates ready for the job market or entrepreneurship. With a focus on competency-based education and training (CBET), RTVoC aligns its curriculum with industry needs, ensuring high employability

Runyenjes Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Embu County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
