Rarieda Technical and Vocational College (RTV3)

Rarieda Technical and Vocational College (RTVC) was established in 2015 under the Kenya Vision 2030 initiative to expand access to technical and vocational education in Siaya County. The college is committed to providing competency-based training that equips students with practical skills for self-employment and the job market.

RTVC offers a range of diploma and certificate programs in engineering, information communication technology, business studies, applied sciences, and hospitality. As a key player in Kenya's TVET sector, the college contributes to the government's agenda of bridging the skills gap and reducing youth unemployment by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

Rarieda Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Siaya County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
