Rachuonyo Technical and Vocational College (RTV)

Rachuonyo Technical and Vocational College, located in Rachuonyo County, Kenya, was established to provide accessible and practical skills training to the local community. The college aims to bridge the gap between formal education and industry demands by offering competency-based programs.

Its mission is to empower youth and adults with technical and vocational skills that foster self-reliance and economic growth. Rachuonyo Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Homa Bay County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
