Mwala Technical and Vocational College (MTV19)

Mwala Technical and Vocational College (MTVC) was established in 2016 to address the growing demand for skilled labor in Eastern Kenya. Located in Mwala, Machakos County, the college is committed to providing competency-based education and training (CBET) that aligns with Kenya's Vision 2030 and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.

MTVC offers a wide range of programmes including engineering, information and communication technology, business studies, hospitality, and agriculture. The institution plays a crucial role in empowering local youth with practical skills for self-employment and formal employment, contributing to poverty reduction and economic development in the region.

With a focus on industry partnerships and modern teaching methodologies, The institution TVC strives to produce graduates who are innovative, ethical, and ready to meet the challenges of the 21st-century workforce.

Mwala Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Machakos County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
