Limuru Technical and Vocational College (LTV5)

Limuru Technical and Vocational College, located in the scenic town of Limuru in Kiambu County, was established in 2008 as a community-based institution to address the growing demand for skilled labor in the region in Kenya. Its mission is to provide quality, affordable, and industry-relevant technical and vocational training that empowers youth and adults for self-reliance and employment.

The college offers a wide range of programmes including Certificate and Diploma courses in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, Hospitality, and Agriculture, all designed to meet the needs.

Limuru Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Kiambu County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
