Likoni Technical and Vocational College (LTV4)

Likoni Technical and Vocational College (LTVC) was established in 2015 to address the skills gap in the coastal region of Kenya. Located in Likoni, Mombasa County, the college was founded through a partnership between the national government and local stakeholders to provide accessible technical and vocational education to youth and adults.

Its mission is to equip learners with practical skills, entrepreneurship competencies, and attitudes necessary for self-reliance and contribution to national development.

As of 2026, LTVC has grown to serve over 3,000 students, playing a crucial role in reducing unemployment and promoting industrialization in the region.

Likoni Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Mombasa County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
