Keroka Technical Training Institute (KT10)

Keroka Technical Training Institute (KTTI) is a public TVET institution located in Keroka, Kisii County, Kenya. Established in 2012 under the Ministry of Education, the institute was created to address the growing demand for skilled technical labor in the region.

Its mission is to provide quality, affordable technical and vocational education that empowers youth with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship. KTTI offers a range of diploma and certificate programs in engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical), information communication technology, business management, and hospitality.

The institute plays a vital role in the local economy by training graduates who support industries in agriculture, manufacturing, and services. With a focus on competency-based education and training (CBET), KTTI aligns its curriculum with Kenya's Vision 2030 and the Big Four Agenda, particularly in manufacturing and affordable

Keroka Technical Training Institute conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Kisii County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
