Kandara Technical and Vocational College (KTVTC)

Kandara Technical and Vocational College is a public TVET institution located in Kandara, Murang'a County, Kenya. Established in 2015, the college was founded to address the growing demand for skilled labor in the region, particularly in agriculture, engineering, and information technology.

Its mission is to provide accessible, quality technical and vocational education that empowers learners with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

As part of Kenya's TVET ecosystem, The institution plays a vital role in bridging the skills gap, aligning its curriculum with industry needs and government initiatives such as the Big Four Agenda and Vision 2030.

Kandara Technical and Vocational College conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Murang'a County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
