Emining Technical Training Institute (ET6)

Emining Technical Training Institute (ETTI) is a public TVET institution located in Emining, Baringo County, Kenya. Established in the early 1980s, it was originally a youth polytechnic and later upgraded to a technical training institute to meet the growing demand for skilled labor in the region. The institute is committed to providing accessible, competency-based education and training that empowers youth and adults with practical skills for employment and self-reliance.

ETTI offers a wide range of certificate and diploma programmes in engineering, business, ICT, applied sciences, and community development.

Accredited by TVETA and KNEC, the institution serves as a key technical training centre for the region, supporting the local economy with skilled graduates.

Emining Technical Training Institute conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Baringo County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
