Chepalungu Technical Training Institute (CT)

Chepalungu Technical Training Institute (CTTI) was established in 1983 in Bomet County, Kenya, with the mission to provide quality technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to empower youth and adults for self-reliance and employment. The institute offers a wide range of certificate and diploma programs in engineering, business, information communication technology, hospitality, and applied sciences.

It is accredited by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) and the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA). CTTI plays a vital role in bridging the skills gap in the region, contributing to the government's agenda of promoting technical education as a pathway to industrialization.

With modern workshops, computer labs, and a dedicated faculty, the institute prepares students for both formal employment and entrepreneurship.

Chepalungu Technical Training Institute conducts applied technical research and skills innovation aligned with the TVET CDACC Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework and Bomet County development priorities. The institution hosts annual technical trade exhibitions and participates in regional KATTI research fairs, showcasing student and faculty innovations in renewable energy (solar and biogas installations), metal fabrication, agricultural mechanization, electrical building services, and ICT business solutions. Applied research projects collaborate with local informal sector artisans (Jua Kali), county vocational directorates, and community micro-enterprises to deliver practical engineering prototypes and community-level economic solutions.
