Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Pharmacy

The Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Pharmacy is a postgraduate research programme offered at the University of Nairobi through the School of Pharmacy. The programme trains scholars to conduct advanced research on pharmaceutical manufacturing, drug formulation, pharmaceutical technology, and quality control, contributing to pharmaceutical industry development and medicine access in Kenya and globally.

The programme addresses national priorities under Vision 2030 and the Kenya Pharmaceutical Policy by training researchers who can improve pharmaceutical manufacturing, drug formulation, and regulatory compliance.

Teaching methods include lectures, pharmaceutical laboratory sessions, industrial research at manufacturing facilities, quality control analysis, and supervised thesis work. Students have access to UoN's pharmacy laboratories and collaborate with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
