The Bachelor of Science in Building and Construction Management is a four-year degree programme that combines construction technology with management principles. The programme prepares graduates to manage construction projects, control costs, and ensure quality in the building industry.

The curriculum covers construction technology, building materials, construction management, project planning, quantity surveying, cost estimation, contract law, building services, structural mechanics, surveying, health and safety, computer-aided design, procurement management, quality assurance, and research methods.

Teaching combines lectures, studio sessions, field visits, industrial attachment, and a research project. Students develop skills in project planning, cost management, contract administration, and construction supervision. The programme emphasises practical construction management and sustainable building practices.

Graduates pursue careers as construction managers, project managers, quantity surveyors, site managers, building inspectors, and construction consultants. Opportunities exist in construction companies, property developers, government public works departments, engineering consultancies, and real estate firms.

The programme is offered at the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, JKUAT, and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University, all public institutions. Admission requires a KCSE mean grade of C+ with C+ in Mathematics and Physics. The programme runs for eight semesters with September and January intakes.

Accreditation is provided by the Commission for University Education (CUE). Annual tuition ranges from approximately KES 306,000 at Kenyatta University, JKUAT, and JOOUST to KES 348,500 at the University of Nairobi based on KUCCPS data.
