Bachelor of Insurance and Marketing
The Bachelor of Insurance and Marketing is a four-year programme that prepares students for insurance operations, risk management and insurance marketing. Students study insurance principles, risk management, insurance marketing, underwriting and claims management. The programme combines insurance knowledge with marketing skills for the insurance industry.
Students develop competencies in insurance principles, risk assessment, insurance marketing, underwriting, claims management and insurance regulation. They learn to assess risks, market insurance products, manage insurance operations and advise clients. The programme covers insurance, risk management, marketing, underwriting and claims.
In Kenya, insurance and marketing is a growing field with increasing insurance penetration. Kenya's insurance industry and regulatory framework under the Insurance Regulatory Authority create opportunities. Graduates find roles in insurance companies, brokerage firms, reinsurance companies, insurance agencies and risk management departments.
Teaching is delivered through lectures, case studies, practical exercises, industrial attachment and research projects. Students analyse insurance cases, develop marketing plans, assess risks and undertake industrial attachment. The programme includes a final-year research project.
Graduates pursue careers as insurance managers, risk managers, insurance marketing executives, underwriters and claims officers. Some work for insurance companies. Others join brokerage firms, reinsurance companies or establish insurance agencies.
This programme is ideal for individuals with analytical skills, business acumen and interest in insurance and marketing.
